IRS Experience:
I made a mistake on my 2006 tax return. I found the mistake while doing my 2007 taxes. I paid the tax owed, the penalty, the interest. The IRS has continued to bill me for that payment, not acknowledging my payment. My neice is an agent. I have given her power of attorney to correct errors. She has been into the IRS multiple times, trying to correct the clerical error. Thinking it was done, we rested, only to receive a levy on my accounts in Aug. 2009, and now a promised levy on my Soc. Sec. I don't know how to fix this problem and everything we've tried seems ineffective.
